Synth-punk?
Another new band for you all, Late Of The Pier a 'glam-techno' synth-punk new-age conglomeration from England (as they usually are). Their album 'Fantasy Black Channel' is quite original in a retro way, using some sounds and progressions reminiscent of the Talking Heads and Frank Zappa. But as with most bands these days, they tend to escape accurate description. In any case here's what you want:
Focker - Late Of The Pier
Bathroom Gurgle - Late Of The Pier
And here's a something more of our usual fare:
Bathroom Gurgle (Tronik Youth Remix) - Late Of The Pier
Louis Vuitton (Database Remix) - Larry Tee
go run around outside while its still nice

Nights Out
for some reason this post got deleted. here it is again in all its glory
This group Metronomy released their album 'Nights Out' about a month ago to rave blogosphere acclaim. The name rang a bell, but I just put them off as another British electronic-pop group...Until I actually heard their music that is, and realized that I had seen them at Montreal's Meg festival in August and had a great time.
I highly recommend that you actually buy 'Nights Out' cuz its a brilliant album. Here's a little teaser, one of my favorites:
Heartbreaker - Metronomy
Breakbot, one of our favorite producers, remixed 'A Thing for Me' from 'Nights Out' with his usual piano and funky bass sound and made it better than the original, imho:
A Thing For Me (Breakbot's B-LIVE Miami Mix) - Metronomy
And for something quite different but definitely worth mentioning, Van She has released another banger, this time remixing Maximum Joy from Shinichi Osawa's 'The One'
Maximum Joy (Van She Remix) - Shinichi Osawa
You gotta love it
enjoy
